When you come to clean your Nasswalk toys, or any sex toy for that matter, it’s important to consider what it’s made from. The presence of a motor in the toy may also determine how you wash it.

For motorised toys made from either silicone, glass, stainless steel, or wood, it’s advised to use a mild antibacterial soap you'd use on your body and a damp cloth to wipe the toy clean.

For un-motorised toys made from silicone, pyrex, stainless steel, or stone you can place it in boiling water for 8-10 minutes to provide a deeper clean. Alternatively, you can run it through the dishwasher without soap – experts say the hot steam will help sterilize it.

For toys made with cyberskin, just use a little bit of soap and warm water to clean it. Too much washing can damage the sensitive material.

For more porous materials such as hard plastic, elastomer, thermoplastic elastomer (TPR), or jelly rubber, bacteria can remain even after washing with soap and water. So, take extra care to give these materials a good clean. If you consider sharing toys made from these materials, then it is best to use a condom.

Once your toy is squeaky clean, simply dry it off completely with a clean towel and store it in a case or silk bag to protect it from other bacteria-laden items.
